Labyrinth: 3D Fashion Show Spring/Summer 2019 SS18

3D fashion show inspired by the 50’s, unrequited love and yellow flowers (tabebuia), love and heartbreak. Butterflies and Moths translated into literal and abstract prints, with some pattern pieces and garments mirroring the shapes of the wings, as well as appliques. I chose to embody the different styles that came out of the fifties, the sock hoppers, greasers, beatniks and the glamour evoked by old Hollywood.I chose to embody the different styles that came out of the fifties, the sock hoppers, greasers, beatniks and the glamour evoked by old Hollywood.

Full Circle: the Resistance Will Be Trendy

The revolution may not be televised, but the resistance will be trendy. Some say that the political and social climate are shaping how people dress, however, knowing that fashion was headed into the 70’s regardless of and before the election, I feel as if its only a part of the cyclical nature of fashion.  Yes,…

Thom Browne Spring/Summer 2017

Quirky, cute, retro chic, pretty and pastel- the Thom Browne SS17 collection was a fresh take for the designer. It’s geek chic, there’s something animated about this take on menswear turned womenswear.  Um…but what the hell is that? A quilt?  The styling and beauty look also added to the modernity and elevated the runway show. …

J. Mendel Spring/Summer 2017 SS17

J. Mendel Spring/Summer 2017 is fresh yet retro, modern yet ethereal, and just so chic. Rodarte Spring/Summer 2017 SS17

How do we feel about the Rodarte Spring/Summer 2017 collection? I feel as if it looks like Betsey Johnson, YSL’s 80’s collection and Xena had a baby…sheer polka-dot fabric gathered and ruffled, layered, draped, studded and cut out…it was 80’s Bo-peep. There is some obvious Indian and 80’s influence in the collection. I found the…
