LRS Spring 2021

LRS Spring/Summer 2021 New York Fashion Week presentation stood out for a few of its garments- the round-the-leg drape of two of the looks (red shown below), the denim cape, the crop hoodie, and the mixing of materials with the rib-knit turtle-neck harness with nylon straps and d-ring fasteners.

New York Fashion Week Is A Lie

Did we get played at times during New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2021? Most certainly- but not because of the pandemic, but rather foolish mistakes on the part of NYFW.com and Vogue in my opinion.

Shirr-Perfection: Polina Gorkovenko Spring 2021

Polina Gorkovenko’s Spring 2021 collection was shirr-perfection- the effect of fabric manipulation using shirring allowed for the same technique to invoke different effects from gathers and ruffles to pleats which evoke entirely different styles from the almost Elizabethan effect on the multicolored dress to the more understated gathering on the Afghan. The cropped jacket, of…

Private Policy Spring 2021

Private Policy’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection was a well executed, perfectly edited and cohesive yet still design-playful collection in its exploration of fashion when met with color palette, graphic prints, utility and wearability: beyond the now common utilitarian pockets- straps, buttons, and harnesses allow the garments to be worn and carried in a more versatile way….

Milan Fashion Week Fall 2020 FW20 AH20

Below you’ll find my favorite looks and pieces from various Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2020 runway shows and collections from designers such as Dolce and Gabbana, Moschino, Gabriele Colangelo, and more. Dolce and Gabbana’s tailored jackets caught my eye- I love a double lapel as much as a collar, and can appreciate the combination of…

Rick Owens Fall 2019

Rick Owens Fall 2019 featured SFX Runway Makeup, beautiful silhouettes and lines accentuating the shoulders, and had a unique take on making use of different planes of the body in this Utilitarian craze we’re seeing this season. What with his publicity stunts in the past, it was easy to overlook his genius, and I’m glad…

Manish Arora Fall 2019

Manish Arora’s Fall 2019 collection really would benefit from editing because some of the garments and accessories are really cool but may be overlooked within the hoard of design splayed onto the runway: it’s an overdose of color, print, texture and fabric selection. The object bags are amazing- tea pots, sharks and fish, vehicles… The…

Saint Laurent Fall 2019

Can we all just be bio-luminescent in Saint Laurent Fall 2019 and live our best lives?  I NEED every freaking piece of menswear! Who cares if Saint Laurent is marching to the beat of its own drum, still on that same aesthetic from like four seasons ago? (…I said Four Seasons).  There was a multitude…

Anrealage Fall 2019

Anrealage Fall 2019 was like a PSA for garment care instructions, only it seems the models have shrunken in the dryer- not the clothes. We haven’t seen proportions like this since LFW years ago, although this collection takes it to a whole new level with avant-garde takes on oversized jackets, lapels, and buttons; giant patch…

Dior Fall 2019

I loved  Dior’s Fall 2019 collection’s embellished skirts, many on tulle with butterfly motifs made of feathers, sequins, and print overlaid with sheer black wave textured fabric. The black and white ink print dress  and contrast dot and gingham skirt were also charming.  I  felt as if the gingham flannel jackets, hats, coats and skirts-…
