The Met In America a Lexicon of Fashion

The Metropolitan Museum’s The Costume Institute 2021 Exhibition, In America A Lexicon Of Fashion

All Looks shown at the Metropolitan Museum’s The Costume Institute 2021 Exhibition, In America A Lexicon Of Fashion can be seen in the video above. Some of my favorite garments include the voluminous blue Rodarte gown and the black Tom Ford dress which was so striking in its simplicity. The Comme Des Garçons felted landscape outfit was appropriately given prominent placement as it was a look that stood out. I feel as if the once in a lifetime experience of the entire exhibit was seeing Claire McCardell’s design, as she’s credited with creating American Sportswear,  and the only experiences similar to viewing her design was seeing Dalí and Schiaparelli’s collaborations and Dior’s New Look at separate exhibitions.
