Labyrinth: 3D Fashion Show Spring/Summer 2019 SS18

3D fashion show inspired by the 50’s, unrequited love and yellow flowers (tabebuia), love and heartbreak. Butterflies and Moths translated into literal and abstract prints, with some pattern pieces and garments mirroring the shapes of the wings, as well as appliques. I chose to embody the different styles that came out of the fifties, the sock hoppers, greasers, beatniks and the glamour evoked by old Hollywood.I chose to embody the different styles that came out of the fifties, the sock hoppers, greasers, beatniks and the glamour evoked by old Hollywood.

Gucci Resort 2018: The Sloppy Copy

I took a moment to reflect on Gucci’s recent collections, and honestly feel like I’ve had a love/hate relationship with the librarian look, the 70’s has been great to Gucci and I likewise will adore many of the on-trend looks and grimace at others.    The look that stood out from the collection was the…

Gareth Pugh Spring/Summer 2017

Since it is Throwback Thursday, let’s discuss the Gareth Pugh Spring/Summer 2017 LFW collection, an avant-garde, grandiose, even theatrical show. Like something out of a Lady Gaga video, this dark and dramatic 3D sculptural masterpiece strut onto the runway. Speaking of which, I can see her, Beyoncé, and Katy Perry in Pugh, and feel as…

Jeremy Scott Spring/Summer 2017

The Jeremy Scott Spring/Summer 2017 runway show started off with fashion MPD, a pink gold and black New York graphic and zipper detail pullover and matching skirt, a Pretty Woman dress, pop art, photo-prints, collars and leashes…it got a little “X-Rated.” In Scott fashion, there were nineties and bondage undertones contrasting Nickelodeon references. The show…

Sportif: Athletic Inspired

For my Parsons Teen Vogue Fashion Industry Essentials Certification Program, I decided to take inspiration from the shift away from purely athletic workout clothing, to the more fashionable look men workout in nowadays…well, the stylish guys anyways. I’m wearing my own graphic t-shirt design, Phillip Lim 3.1 French Terry Joggers, White Black and Silver Nike’s, a…

What Fashion Means to Me as a Designer and Blogger

Fashion, design, sewing- they’ve always been a source of inspiration, creative expression, even necessary skills passed down from my mother who taught me how to sew.  She taught my younger brothers and I how to mend a hem, reattach a button, iron, all when we were young children.  She imparted upon us the skills she…

Westwood Does Good

Vivienne Westwood Tees for a good cause: Factory Farms are an evil that should be illegalized. No living being should be confined and abused in such torturous conditions. If you’re ignorant on what I’m speaking of, watch Death On A Factory Farm, or search for how cows and pigs are mistreated and kept.

After reading a post by @LOrealUSA on Twitter, I realized I have knowledge and experience with L’Oréal products ranging from makeup to shampoo: even my posts on bleaching my hair referenced L’Oréal Paris, as I use Super Oreal Blanc Professional Powder Bleach (See post On Going Blonde or DIY Bold Hair Colors: Blue Hair…).  I also use…
