Reem Acra SS16: Radioactive Bollywood

The Reem Acra Spring/Summer 2016 Fashion Show took us on a trip to India in this radioactive bollywood collection.  The iridescent fabrics seemed luminescent all their own: short dresses segued to long flowing silhouettes.  Saris met with Gypsy inspired peasant looks in a mind blowing effect.  Deep plunging v-necks, draw-string, keyhole, sweetheart, halter, and décolletage necklines paired with bishop sleeves, off-the-shoulder, sleeveless, and kimono sleeves stayed true to this Indian journey we were whisked away on.  The fabric selection was everything, and I loved that sheer was layered atop vibrant glowing silks and lamé.  The prints are basically ineffable, but included stripes with floral embroidery, ornate floral themed baroque, what looked like a delicate paisley, bold raspberry and white and green and white stripes, and beautiful sheer fabric dotted with metallic gold. The color palette included orange, fuchsia, light lilac and dusty rose, the iridescent multicolor fabrics in an opal and a glowing unearthly green-yellow, cerulean, red, navy, gold yellow, turquoise, and sage green to name a few.  Reem Acra turned out a show-stopping collection, the gowns of which we will definitely see on starlets walking red carpets.
