Fly a Kite Craig Green! Spring/Summer 2018

πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ» I’m having a Margiela Spongebob SQUAREPANTS flashback thanks to Craig Green’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection. Frumpy rags and futuristic scarecrow clothesline alternatives remind us that while fashion can be art, fashion isnt modern art(s and crafts). Listen, put this in an art display and call it “Hanger Kites”…dont send it down the runway my little finger painter of a designer.
I think there’s some soul searching in the area of editing for this designer- the proportions, silhouettes, cuts…theres such a contrast between the sculptural and wearable looks. If the architectural were infused into the collection, and the random skirts and hot mess scrapped, we’d probably herald him a genius…but I don’t think he’s getting there with planks and braided ropes.
