The 60’s Mod met with psychedelic 70’s and military influences at The Jeremy Scott Fall/Winter 2017 Runway Show : with the expected cute graphic designs, bold prints and colors, and a fun lighthearted air to the show, everything screamed Jeremy Scott. “Love Stinks,” read a sheer blue graphic print dress with a toon skunk on it- a Pepe reference.
The Standout: A moto dress redeux, Jesus graphic pants and shirts, As Seen On TV sequin tank, embellished white leather flared pants and cropped jacket on Gigi Hadid, an orange shearling jacket and shearling-lined coats, separates galore, white and gold cape, wholly sequin pants and jackets in black and gold, frill detailed cropped drop-shoulder tracksuit, a literal fox stole reminiscent of one designed by ADEAN NYC and featured in Nylon Magazine years ago. Is that graphic print a cartoon dog version of Michael Jackson? The looks were styled with glittering knee-high platform boots, star-shaped sunnies, square bags, Dorothy’s ruby slippers,
The bad: The crushed velvet bell-bottoms looked cheap, like they’re made out of costume velvet; the hideous patchwork suede; the over-designed gold and wine men’s jacket with burnt golden-rod shoulder trim, and the horizontal multi-color striped fabric.
The Jeremy Scott FW17 NYFW MBFW show was bold, retro and 70’s in a very exciting way- you can be a rockstar, a flower child, boho-chic, a diva, and a bad ass bitch in this collection.
