The Ann Demeulemeester Fall/Winter 2017 collection brought about a return to the androgynous gender fluidity the former designer was known for. It felt, at times, overtly feminine, and yet romantic-goth or retro at others. Black, white, green, and red composed the color palette, with a fabric selection of wool, chiffon, silk, knits, fur, and lace contrasting black leather. I love bishop sleeves and collars, and felt like some of the shirts looked modern with just the sleeve, whereas the full look is a bit period, but I would rock it any day: in fact, I’m tempted to go romantic-goth.
The Ann Demeulemeester FW17 runway show was romantically feminine, melding different eras together in a mostly wearable way- the lace notwithstanding.
