Alexander McQueen London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2016 LFW FW16

Alexander McQueen London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2016 took us through the looking glass and into this new concept of the boob thong.  We went back in time to Madonna’s bra era, with body chains, flowers in the models’ hair, a really nude makeup, butterfly and pocket watch graphics, leg of mutton sleeves, leather, organza, maid outfits, pleated lace burn outs, gorgeous white and black coats, chains and pins, belts and chains, matte and sheen, sheer and opaque, ruffles, lace and silk slip dresses, and metallic on black embroidery characterized the show.

I feel like the embroidered butterflies would’ve been so much more breathtakingly beautiful had it been edited, and not overworked.  The butterfly shape was brought to the corset, something which I’m designing myself…damn, I hate when known designers beat me to it.. The moot-jacket dress was adorably edgy.    The sheer embroidered dress is giving us Beyoncé Met Ball fabulous.  I think we can expect to see Cate Blanchett in the bold leg of mutton embroidered dress on a red carpet.  Either way, these sheer numbers are red carpet ready!

The Alexander McQueen LFW FW16 fashion show was a totally 90’s throwback collection that featured gorgeous motifs of butterflies and pocket watches, glamorous embroidered sheer dresses, and moto-jacket dresses, combined with on-trend looks like slip dresses, this collection is sure to be hitting the backs of fashionistas, socialites, and starlets alike.
