DSquared^2 Fall/Winter 2016 Men’s Milan Fashion Week collection featured lots of denim- patchwork, distressed wash jeans, jackets, and vests; Asian themes of kimonos, silk pants with Japanese symbol prints, floral and dragon print red statement coats and varsity jackets; fitted and loose pants; kilts; metallic silver coats; gradated bold colored embellishments on leather jackets and coats. The contrast of the open front green plaid kilt to the leather pants with zipper details was a fresh take on the 90’s trend. The color palette was mostly white and black, with blue denim, and boldly colored prints on red silk.
DSquared2’s FW16 MFW show was full of unique details: the straps and asian-insured closures of the dress shirts were eye-catching, as was the black on white floral embroidered t-shirt. I loved the more graffiti-esque street art print on the denim jacket and statement coats. It was a show the stood apart from everything else we’ve been seeing for Fall/Winter 2016 menswear.
