Phillip Plein Fall/Winter 2016 Men’s Milan Fashion Week FW16 MFW

Phillip Plein’s Fall/Winter 2016 Men’s Milan Fashion Week collection drew inspiration from super heroes, Batman, Superman, Captain America, with black leather looks seamed in a style similar to that of The Dark Night’s costume.  It was not kitschy, but rather very dark and cool- perhaps the palette being black, gray, and navy with touches of red here and there helped keep it looking more fashion…unless the super hero logos are not detachable pins…then it’s cheesy.  I mean, if you’re a super fan, fine, rock the foil graphic logo tee, but otherwise, ditch the pin(s) Mr. Wayne.

Moto-inspired suits, chunky knits, wide brim fedoras, super hero backpacks (no good, you’re a grown man), contrasting leather yokes, a fur moto jacket and coat, spiked brogues- the looks were for the most part fashionable, edgy, and seemed to transition well from the bold SS16 collection into FW16 MFW.
