You already know I loved the men’s Balmain SS16 show, see it here. For Womenswear SS16, Balmain was still gorgeous, on-trend with the knits and color palette of tans and nude, among the black, emerald green, and turquoise. I loved how Kylie Jenner looked in the knit dress and the VMA’s, and think there are many gorgeous sheer and see-through nude-effect dresses that are going to keep the ladies showing us their T&A and panties…so get your singles ready to make it rain on em…I do keep mentioning a slip can help give the nude illusion without going Beyonce wannabe leotard or hoochy hooha…but to each their own… While the collection does have glamorous and slutty looks, for some reason I was so much more taken by the menswear collection, with the perfect touch of androgyny. I still love the combat-boot sandals, and while some of the styling is questionable (ahem…the green knit with that necklace), it is a very wearable, very Kim K meets Aguilera collection. The utilitarian trend was played down as well, with the cargo pockets having a less prominent role. The Balmain girl is tres sexy and or chic, depending on the outfit and whether you’re discussing her from the waist up or down ; )
