Monique Lhuillier SS16

Monique Lhuillier’s Spring/Summer fashion show played out beneath a dangling 3D set, and featured gorgeous beaded applique dresses and gowns.  The show felt a bit rushed, and I found myself wondering if everyone dropped acid before it started or if this was choreographed in New York minutes.

The palette included jewel tone emerald green, magenta, cyan, periwinkle, white, red, black, orange, yellow, and blue.  Colors were splashed together in both floral  and paint-splotch prints and appliques.  Silk taffeta, lace, and silk chiffon fabrics dominated the show.  Shift dresses, long flowing gowns, pencil skirts, hi-lo tops, straight leg pants, flawless sheath dresses, coats, crop tops, full skirts, lace shorts, and button ups beneath lace tops comprised the looks.  It was a stunningly gorgeous and well executed collection.
