My 10-Step Gender Fluid Androgynous Makeup or Androgyny Make-Up Routine.

  1. Foundation: L’Oreal Magic Nude liquid powder foundation with an e.l.f. Small Stipple Brush.
  2. Concealer:  Apply concealer (Maybelline Fit Me) to the brow, nasolabial folds, bridge of the nose, jaw bones, under-eye area, and chin, then blend out with an e.l.f. Flawless Concealer Brush.
  3. Set Your Make-up with a loose translucent powder (NYC Smooth Skin Loose Face Powder) and powder brush (MAC 129SE).
  4. Contour by placing a matte bronzer to under the cheekbones (for men, extend it below the lip muscle area below the nasolabial folds); sides of the nose; just below the brow; and in the 3-shape around the forehead, temples, and below the jaw.  I used the e.l.f. Contouring Blush and Bronzer palette and Professional Bronzing Brush.
  5. Highlight the inner corners of the eyes (NYC Opal 879 Eye Dust and MAC pencil brush).
  6. Line your eyes and waterline:
    1. Begin with a black shadow or eyeliner pencil/pen/gel liner/liquid liner (Wet-N-Wild Spoiled Brat Palette and MAC flat liner brush).
    2. Then line the waterline (ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal eyeliner).  *Don’t stretch the eyes open, but rather feel your way along the waterline with the tip of the pencil: I find it helpful to rest your hand on your face and lay the pencil flat at the inner corner, dragging to the outer corner.
  7. Curl your lashes before applying mascara to avoid snapping them off!
  8. Apply mascara to the top and bottom lashes…I prefer a volumizing and lengthening mascara- because why not have the best of both worlds? I use the e.l.f. Waterproof Lengthening and Volumizing Mascara.
  9. Apply lip balm, lip stain, or lip color/gloss…whatever you like mother-pucker.  I used Maybelline’s Baby Lips in 115 Mad for Magenta.
  10. Shape and define brows by combing them, then using small strokes to properly fill them in.  I used the Boutique Defining Brow Pencil in Natural Blonde.
