Foundations for Summer vs. Winter

I used liquid and creamy foundations during the fall and winter, feeling as if it helped with dry skin.  I used E.LF. Tinted Moisturizer, Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream, L’Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder. I highly suggest using brushes, such as a synthetic or duo-fiber foundation brush and concealer brush. Set with translucent powder and a large powder brush.

For summer, I find myself switching to a powder mineral foundation to counteract oiliness and lengthen wear time, given liquid foundations melt off. Beginning in Spring with Philosophy’s The Supernatural (which is such a flawless finish I used it on a professional photoshoot), then switching to Bare Minerals in Golden Medium as my color darkens.  You will have to adjust your shade for differing seasons as well- I am beige porcelain in the fall and winter, and light-medium in the spring and summer.

  1. I recently switched into my summer foundation, admittedly it has been wishful thinking. It’s 20 degrees and snowing in NY today. *sigh* soon enough… Great post!
