The Tom Ford FW15 collection looked like a stroll down memory lane- or alley rather, with looks inspiring 90’s fashion rejects. It looks like he took different designers’ styles and said, what would it look like if they didn’t edit? Cavalli inspired wild prints poorly executed, the boring side of Dolce and Gabbana. Weird denim skirts with blue or leopard fur…the need for editing is evident. If those horrid looks were removed, the other leopard print isn’t so offensive, and the collection started to pick up. Unfortunately, the half & half skirt, bulky coats and skirts started pouring out. A few patchwork seventies looks for good measure. While there are some great looks mixed in with the trash of this mishmash, we’re left wondering what we’ve just seen. It was a circus of a show, and the pattern dresses did absolutely nothing for a woman’s body- or rather did it a disservice. I think the best description would be Amateur.
